Donald Hempel

Graveside service for Donald Edward “Don” Hempel, 85, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 18, 2016 in Greenacres Memorial Park. The Reverend Kenny Rigoulot will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Don Hempel passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 in Arlington. He was born Sept. 23, 1930 in Dallas to Max and Dorothy Schroth Hempel. He married Edna Grace on Sept. 20, 1969 in Cleburne.

Mr. Hempel was an accomplished machinist who ended his working career with the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Cleburne.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Edna Hempel; children, Connie and Bill Goode of San Saba, Donald and Norma Hempel of Whitney, Rick and Tina Hempel of Cleburne, Randy and Dixie Bryan of Gorman, and Rhonda and Joseph Schindler of Grandview; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Paula Tippin.
