Don passed gently on Sunday, June 13, 2021 with his family at his side, after a lengthy and unexpected illness. He was born in Knoxville, IA on September 14, 1951 and received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from University of Iowa.

Don had a penchant for electrical work as early as high school, repairing televisions for friends and relatives in the community. After graduation as a Hawkeye, Don worked at Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids, IA and Shreveport, LA, followed by Gerdau Midlothian Steel Mill, in Midlothian, TX. Don ran his own electrical engineering company, Wilson Engineering Co., for 47 years. He had a unique and innate ability to fix almost anything, even beyond electrical “stuff”, as he applied his genius skills. Don had the natural ability to create, restore and/or repair untold electronic and mechanical projects, for so many for so many years. For this talent alone Don will be greatly missed. A generous man, Don was much loved and adored by so many friends and family. He will be missed by all….with much love in our hearts.

Don was preceded in death by his father Robert Lee Wilson in 2000 and his mother Eula May in 2009 of Cleburne, TX.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Morris-Wilson of Cleburne, and their beloved son, Brandon Tyler Morris-Wilson and his beloved wife, Naomi Rose Morris-Wilson, along with their adored granddaughter, Sawyer Kate Morris-Wilson of Cleburne, TX…and by his sister, Linda Sue Keen and her husband Allan Enright Keen of Winter Park, FL., and by his nieces Kinsley Sue Keen and Kristen Enright Matt, her husband David Michael Matt and their daughter, Annabelle Enright Matt, all of Winter Park, FL.

Don’s quiet but impactful life skills will be greatly missed, by family and friends alike all-over South Texas. He was a unique person, someone who affected many many lives in a positive way. The world will greatly miss Don Wilson.
