Donie Montgomery

Services for Donie Lee Montgomery, 88, of Ft. Worth, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Dennis Hudson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.


Donie Lee Montgomery passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 in Bowie. She was born May 3, 1920 in Joshua to Odius Sylvester and Ella Mary Toliver Weed. She married Curtis A. Montgomery on August 15, 1942 in Cleburne.

Mrs. Montgomery was a custom western wear tailor and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Donie Lee Montgomery is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Powell of Sunset; granddaughter, Angela Faulkenberry of Ft. Worth; grandson, Bernie Powell, Jr. and wife, Sandie of Sunset; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Lee Faulkenberry and their dad, David, Summer Morrow and Megan and Morgan Powell two great-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Lilly Payne; sisters, Helen Altman, Ethel Fitzgerald, Della Neff and husband, Oliver; brother, Wilson Weed and wife, Jimmye and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Montgomery, son-in-law, Bernie Powell, Sr. and two sisters, Wanda Barnett and Dorothy Calamese.
