Dora Prine

Dora Dean Stagner Prine, 82, lifetime resident of Cleburne, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Burleson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Trey King, Marty King, Charles Moore, Randy Moore, T.J. Dunning, and J.D. Dunning will serve as pallbearers. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org . Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

Dora was born January 15, 1939 in Hamilton, Texas to James Henry and Odessie Carter Stagner. She married James Wayne Prine on June 15, 1963 in Mansfield, Texas. She worked as the bookkeeper along-side her husband as co-owners and operators of Prine Auto Salvage from 1976-1996. Dora was a member of New Heart Worship Center. Dora had a calm and quiet spirit but was strong in her faith. She loved with all her heart and kept her family at the center of her world. She was valedictorian of her high school class. Her smarts and quick wit made her often beat contestants on the many gameshows that she watched over the years. She was a lover of puzzles, especially crosswords. Keno was a love of hers, uniting her love of games and family both. Dora sewed for her grandchildren until she was no longer able to. Crafting was a lifetime talent of hers. She and Wayne gave her crafted items to many throughout the community for years, especially at the holidays. They also enjoyed eating out and visiting with folks as a couple every day, especially at Susannah’s. She will be missed greatly and remembered fondly by all.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Veda Stagner, Vesta Stagner, and John Stagner; brothers and sister-in-law, Alvin Gossett, Royce Young, and Paula Prine.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James Wayne “Jimmy” Prine, Jr. and Catherine; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki Kay Moore and Todd; grandchildren, Dustin & Crystal Moore, Justin and Laura Moore, Amberley & Chris Davis, Ashley Prine, and Kristi Roden and Phillip; 11 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers in law, Joyce Gossett, Henrietta and Eddie Elms, June Young, and Tommie and Terry Dunning; brother-in-law, Gene Prine, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
