Service for Doris M. Bowers, 89, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend John Glover will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Ravey, Roger Castillo, Robert Miller, James Winstead, Josh Miller, and Willie Caldwell. Honorary pallbearer will be Josh Coffin. Visitation will be from 6-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Doris M. Bowers passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 in Cleburne. She was born August 7, 1925 in Wichita, Kansas to Alfred D. and Lena Mae Phares McHone. She married Edward Rex Bowers in October 1975 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2009.

Mrs. Bowers had 37 years of service as an executive assistant in the Corps of Engineers.
Doris Bowers is survived by six children, William J. Miller and wife Linda of Oklahoma, Donald E. Miller and wife Jeannie of Granbury, Doris Mae Ravey of Cleburne, Carol Miller Gegen and husband Jim of Virginia, Darrell Miller and wife Carla of Alvarado and James Miller of Rio Vista; nineteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William J. Miller; and three brothers, Charles, Hugh and Jimmy McHone.
