Doris Mills

Service for Doris Aline Vaughan Mills, 91, of Keene will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Charles E. Payne and Reverend Brooks Monk will officiate. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jim Vaughan, Jeff Vaughan, Ron Moore, Troy Moore, Travis Vaughan and Chad Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Bet Correa and Ryan Moore.

Mrs. Mills passed away, Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Keene. She was born August 1, 1922 in Alvarado to George Dewey and Leoda Tucker Clapper. She married June Vaughan on April 5, 1940 in Blum and he preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1980. She married Ben Mills on June 5, 2004 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2010.

Doris and June Vaughan lived on a farm near Blum where they raised three children. Doris worked at Walls Mfg. retiring with 25 years of service. She had many friends there. She lived at the Wren House Assisted Living in Cleburne for two years and loved it. Doris was a devoted mother and homemaker. She will be forever cherished by all her family and friends and greatly missed by her three children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Mills is survived by her children, Bill Vaughan and wife Donna of Conway, Ark., June Moore and husband Wayne of Grand Prairie and Bob Vaughan and wife Myrtis of Cleburne; grandchildren, Jim Vaughan and wife Cindy of Plumerville, Ark., Jeff Vaughan and wife Darla of Plumerville, Ark., Jennifer Vestal of Rogers, Ark., Laurie Meissner of Roanoke, Ron Moore of Houston, Troy Moore and wife Eva of Haslet, Darla Davis and husband Chad of North Richland Hill, Travis Vaughan and wife Rachel of Bedford and Sarah Correa and husband Bet of Keene; 15 great grandchildren, Taylor Vaughan, Kelsey Vaughan, Ryan Moore, Aaron Meissner, Kaleigh Moore, Shane Moore, Jennifer Rodriquez, Harleigh Clague, Taite Moore, Miranda Moore, Dixie Moore, Olivia Davis, Owen Davis, Jesse Correa and Melanie Correa; 3 great great grandchildren, Cameron Moore, Alexander Vaughan and Dominic Mayall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and W.D. Clapper and one sister, Dorothy Rexrode.
