Services for Mrs. Doris Carter Oosterveen, 86, of Cleburne, TX. formerly of Texarkana, TX. will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2006 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Kern Porter and Mr. Claud Moehlman will officiate. Mr. B.B. Stevens will lead congregational singing. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne. Pallbearers will be Cliff Kammerdiener, Jr., Greg Kammerdiener, Sr., Will DeLaughter, John Shultz, Danny DeLaughter, Philip DeLaughter, Chad Oosterveen, Casey Oosterveen and Corey Oosterveen. Honorary Pallbearers will be her seven great grandsons.
Mrs. Oosterveen passed from this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in Cleburne. She was born May 30, 1919 near Allen, TX. to George Franklin and Mary Blakney Carter. She was a member of the Westhill Church of Christ, a minister's helpmeet and a homemaker. She married Harry Walter Oosterveen on November 18, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA.
Mrs. Oosterveen is survived by three daughters, Patricia Stephens and husband Dan and Nancy Shultz all of Cleburne, Harriet DeLaughter and husband Donald of Texarkana, TX.; son, Walter Bruce Oosterveen and wife Kathie of Albany, GA.; nine grandsons who will serve as her palbearers; one granddaughter, Stephanie Lloyd of Tyler; ten great granddaughters, seven great grandsons and one great great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry Walter Oosterveen; son Harry Walter Oosterveen, Jr. and great great granddaughter, Alexis Kammerdiener also her parents and all of her siblings.
Visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2006 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
