Doris Stanley

Services for Doris Elizabeth Stanley, 94, of Ardmore, Oklahoma (formerly of Cleburne), will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the First Christian Church of Cleburne. Reverend Nathan Loewen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be great grandsons, Kyle Looper, Clint Nall and Cody Nall and nephews, Johnny Carlock, Toliver Carson and Gary Barger. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Lynn Looper and Jason Castillo. There will be open visitation from 10:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home and from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the church, prior to services on Saturday.

Mrs. Stanley passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was born to Toliver Thomas and Beulah Lottie Maples Barger on July 15, 1918 in Johnson County, Texas. She was a homemaker and caretaker to many loved ones throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Cleburne for over 50 years as well as a member of the First Christian Church of Ardmore for several years. She married Truman Foch Stanley on April 22, 1939. She was known for her gardening abilities with both vegetables and flowers. She enjoyed fishing, working puzzles and reading in her spare time. Doris will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Charlotte Evans and Wilmarine Lancaster.

Survivors include her daughters, Denver Looper and husband Donald and Judy Castillo and husband Cass; five grandchildren, Lynn Looper and wife Lisa, Pamela Taylor, Donna Nall and husband Danny, Jason Castillo and wife Allison and Christina Castillo; nine great grandchildren, Kyle Looper, Sara Raney, Clint Nall, Cody Nall, Jennifer Taylor, Erin Taylor, Hattie Castillo, Tessa Castillo and Tanner Castillo; and one great great granddaughter, Emma Taylor; sisters, Henrietta Carlock and Raynette Carson and husband Joe; brother, Thomas Barger and wife Ruby; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
