Service for Dorothy Ashcraft, 99, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Terry Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday.

Mrs. Ashcraft passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 in Keller. She was born October 11, 1912 in Cleburne to William Hayden and Eliza Brackett. She married Vesta Dewitt Ashcraft in 1933 in Glen Rose.

Dorothy was a retired meat packer for Buddy's or Winn Dixie. She loved to shop and was an avid romance novel reader. She was a sweet lady with a great sense of humor. She was a member of the Fort Worth Order of Eastern Star and the United Methodist Church. Her independent spirit and fun loving nature will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Sherry Briggs, Stephen Ashcraft, Linda Bahou-Presma, Darla Wooldridge and Linda McFarland; 11 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; several great great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vesta Dewitt Ashcraft; children, Johnnie Ashcraft and James Ashcraft and grandchildren, Philip Wooldridge and Mary Lee Culbertson.
