Service for Dorothy A. Dyer, 93, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 27, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Chaplain Matthew McKethan will officiate. Burial will be in Baker Lain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clay Dyer, Reed Bennett Jr., Chris Walters, Jonathan Nash, Matt Evans and Nicholas Bennett. Honorary pallbearer will be Phillip Nash. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
Dorothy A. Dyer passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Cleburne. She was born January 20, 1920 in Glen Rose to Hans Christian and Gennetta Hanna Hanson. She moved to Cleburne from the Freeland Community in 1954.
Ms. Dyer worked as an assembler at both Rangaire and Walls Industries. She was a member of Granbury Street Church of Christ. She was very vivacious, animated and opinionated, yet very private. She was often described as being sweet, kind and loving. Dorothy enjoyed flowers and plants and could grow anything. She was raised on a farm and loved the country life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Jo Nash, Jean Bennett and husband Reed Sr. and Larry Dyer; seven grandchildren, Patti, Reed, Chris, Phillip, Jonathan, Julie and Clay; 15 great grandchildren and one on the way; three great-great grandchildren; siblings, Ruby Christy and Weldon Hanson; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Ollie Hanson, Leona Bullard, Bernice Davis, Willa Mae Bullard, Orville Hanson, Gladys Dyer, Homer Hanson and Opal Jolly.
