Dorothy Knowles

Service for Dorothy Mae Knowles, 96, of Godley will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 1, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Godley. Dr. Joe Cathey will officiate. Burial will follow at 12:30 P.M. at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.

Visitation will be from 2-4:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Dorothy Mae Knowles met her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2014. She was born January 25, 1918 to the late George and Stella Clements, and was the second-youngest of a large family of five brothers and four sisters from Dorchester, Texas. She met her husband Bob Knowles and they moved to Godley, Texas in 1965. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Godley for nearly fifty years. Her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Dyer Knowles passed away in 1998.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by her mother and father, her siblings, and her sons, Robert "Bunky" Howard Knowles and Mike Knowles. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her four great-grandchildren Ashley (Michael) Crutsinger, Amanda Knowles, Lauren Knowles, Christopher Allen, and her two great-great grandchildren Jade Marie Crutsinger and Michael Anthony Crutsinger. She is also survived by the many family members she accumulated at the First Baptist Church, who were her closest friends, and very dear to Dorothy throughout her life.
