Service for Dorothy Lorene Linville, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday. September 29, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Keith Whitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Linville answered the Master's call on Sunday, September 25, 2011 in Cleburne. She was born March 6, 1922 in Ft. Worth to Fritz Gibson and Annie Alzora Doolin Knight. She married C. E. "Buck" Linville on January 11, 1941 in Weatherford. They moved to Cleburne in Johnson County in 1945. Mrs. Linville retired in 1987 from National Yellow Page Service. She was a computer operator at National for seven years and was formerly employed with Capital Silica Sand Plant as an executive secretary for 14 years. She was a 1940 graduate of Trimble Tech High School in Ft. Worth and successfully completed a course in Human Relations in Business including Accounts Management at the University of Texas at Austin.

Mrs. Linville accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 13 in the Travis Avenue Baptist Church, which is now Matthew Memorial Baptist Church in Ft. Worth. She was a member of North Cleburne Baptist Church for 50 years. She served as president of the Sunshine Club, secretary of the Seekers Sunday School Class, and preformed many other duties in the church, such as teacher. She was involved in many civic and community organizations including the Walls Regional Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary for more than five years. She was a charter and lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary #214, having served as Post Commander, Sr. Vice Commander and Chaplain. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter #20, for over 50 years, the American Legion #648 of Rio Vista, and Elks Lodge #811. She was a member of the Garden Club for 25 years and also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Mrs. Linville was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C. E. "Buck" Linville on July 17, 1979; brother, Fritz Knight, Jr.; sister, Colleen Knight Ament; one son, Larry Gene Linville in 2008 and one grandchild, Shannon Jean Linville.

Survivors include her son, Terry Shawn Linville; daughter-in-law, Janice Linville; two grandsons, Lonnie Shayne Linville and wife Carly and Shelby Gene Linville and wife Tiffany, all of Rio Vista; three great granddaughters, Devin, Kali and Makayla Linville; great grandson, Lance Linville and four step great grandchildren; a host of other realtives and friends.
