Graveside service for Dorthy Fay Gregory Owens, 91, of Burleson will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2013 in Greenacres Memorial Park in Cleburne. Chaplain Steve Durbin will officiate.
Dorthy Fay Gregory Owens left this world, Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Cleburne.
She was born in Johnson County on July 31, 1921, to Elmer P. and Ethel Fay Jackson Gregory. She was a descendant of early Johnson County settlers in the Union Hill and Marystown area. She married Julius M. "Jude" Owens in Johnson County in 1940.
Dot retired from General Dynamics as the first woman supervisor in her department. Quite an achievement for a woman at the time.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Jude; her parents; sister, Alvin Earle Wright; and her brother, C.W. Gregory.
She is survived by nieces, Jinnette Wright Jones of Grandview and family, Joyce Wright Jackson and husband, Gene M. Jackson, of Joshua and family; and cousin, Margie Klar of Fort Worth.
