Dorothy Pipes

Services for Dorothy Elizabeth Kingcaid Pipes, 87, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2006 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Graham will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandson: Dennis McKinzie, Eric Pipes, Chris Pipes, Gilbert Burciaga, Chad Miller, and her nephew, Donald Jean Pipes. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Poynter, Matthew Burciaga and Mike Ward.

Our beloved mother, Dorothy Elizabeth Kingcaid Pipes left us Friday, October 13, 2006. She was 87 years old and lived at the Commons Methodist Nursing Home of Enid, OK at her passing.

Dorothy Elizabeth Kingcaid Pipes was born June 29, 1919 to William R. Kingcaid and Anna Ethel Adams Kingcaid in Cleburne, Texas. She married Ross Elbert Pipes on July 16, 1936 at her grandfather's home in Cleburne. They were married 61 years at his passing in 1998.

Mrs. Pipes worked at Cleburne Drug for a short time, J.C. Penny's in Fort Worth, Texas and Operation Blessing in Cleburne. She belonged to Field Street Baptist Church in Cleburne and was a member of the Engineers Wives Club of Cleburne, and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter #20 of Cleburne. She loved visiting with grandchildren and sewing for them and working in her flowerbeds and cooking. She also loved to fish and travel with Dad.

Dorothy Elizabeth Kingcaid Pipes is survived by two daughters, Kathleen and husband J.R. McKinzie (Mac) of Enid, OK and Carolyn Hopkins of Cleburne; one son,William E. Pipes (Bill) and wife Renee, of St. Petersburg, FL; one sister, Jackie Irene Sneed of Conroe, Texas; one brother, William R. Kingcaid (Bill) and wife Patricia of LaPorte, TX; eleven grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Miller and husband Chad, Dennis Ray McKinzie and wife Robbin, Elizabeth Ann Clayton, Deborah L. Burciaga and husband Gilbert, Christopher Steven Pipes, Eric Bryan Pipes, Jennifer A. Freeborg and husband Chris; ten great-grandchildren, Chelsea R. Miller, Tanner C. Miller, Colby R. McKinzie, Shane C. McKinzie, Beau C. McKinzie, Jachob Clayton, Misty N. Holmes, Brianna Ramos, Dominique Burciaga, Matthew Burciaga and one great-great grandson, Isaiah Burciaga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross E. Pipes, her mother, father and two grandchildren.
