Services for Dorothy Maxine Gotcher Tatum, 89, of Burleson, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 30, 2013 in the Mountain Valley Funeral Chapel. Dr. Terry Williams will officiate services. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, Burleson.
Dorothy Maxine Gotcher Tatum passed from this world into the Lord’s hands Thursday, September 26, 2013 at her home. She was born to H.L. and Ida Dorothy Heath Cobb on February 15, 1924 in Hill County, Texas. She was the last member of her graduating class of 1941 in Blum High School. It has been said that she was a respectable and proper lady with strict values and morals. Her life motto was “If you can’t do it right, don’t do it at all”. This motto echoed throughout her life and all she did.
She is remembered as a treasured and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She took great pride in being a Christian. She cherished the time she had with family. Maxine will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Christopher J. Weldon Gotcher and Walter J. Tatum.
Survivors include her children, Linda J. Bryant (Mark) of Carrollton, Charles Gotcher (Donna) of Alvarado, Gary Gotcher (Janie) of Springtown, and Ann L. Boehringer (Johnny) of Red Oak; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; brothers, Harold Cobb and Foster Hyder; sister, Donna Mazella; and a host of other relatives and friends.
