Service for Dorothy Tyer, 93, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 25, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

Dorothy passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Whitney. She was born March 9, 1929, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Jim J. and Nell Nora (Davis) Barnes. She married Noble Bobby “Bob” Tyer on December 24, 1946, in Sherman, Texas. Dorothy was an “extreme homemaker” who took great pride in her home and caring for her family. She was a member of Field Street Baptist Church and spent countless hours serving at her church. She enjoyed her fellowship with her ladies groups playing Bunco and other card games. Bingo was another of her favorites. She was truly a people person and an avid sports fan. In her younger years, she liked to camp and travel. She was a talented crafter and artist. She will be missed greatly especially when her loved ones remember her love.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Janis Collins; daughter-in-law, Barbara Tyer; grandchildren, Robert Tyer, Tiffany Salinas, Cristin Collins, Corrin Walker, and Chance Collins; 12 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jimmy Tyer; and sister, Nora Ratliff.
