Graveside service for Doug Taylor, 64, of Joshua will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Bono Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, April 8, 2022 at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Taylor, Austin Taylor, Trent Taylor, Marty Rogers, John Gardner, Chris York, Luis Gonzales and Nick Arellano
Doug passed away April 1, 2022 in Fort Worth with family by his side. He was born June 16, 1957 in Cleburne to Harold Douglas Sr. and Shirley Ann Shannon Taylor. Doug married his best friend Sherri Darlene Rogers on July 1, 2011 in Cleburne. He was a 1976 graduate of Joshua High School. Doug retired in June 2017 after 38+ years with Union Pacific Railroad. He was a Volunteer Fireman for Joshua for 9 years and a member of Joshua Masonic Lodge. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Doug was also a bull rider, rodeo clown and bronc rider. He loved taking care of his family and his neighbor’s yards and keeping his mother’s Blue Bonnets alive. Doug’s most favorite thing was being “Popy”.
Doug is survived by his wife, Sherri of Joshua; daughter, Laci Espinoza and husband, Gabe of Burleson; grandchildren Jaci “Pooh Bear” his second best friend and Legend “Littleman”; brother, Dr. John Taylor and wife, Lisa of Forney and mother-in-law, Reba Rogers of Cleburne; numerous nieces, nephews, many great nieces and nephews and a host of genuine friends
Doug is preceded in death by his father, Harold Taylor and mother, Shirley Taylor.
