Graveside service for Douglas Roger Webb, 75, of Joshua, Texas will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Godley Cemetery. Reverend Kenneth Coleman will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 A.M., Saturday at the funeral home.
Douglas Roger Webb passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 in Reno, Nevada. He was born August 28, 1944 in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Louis Edward, III and Zennie Mae (Vinson) Webb. He married Sammie Gale Chaudoir of Alexandria, Louisiana, on January 8, 1970 in Pineville, Louisiana.
Douglas served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War and received the Bronze Star with Valor for Heroism in Action against enemy forces. He worked offshore for Halliburton Oil Field Service in Louisiana for 10 years and was an underwriter for Ameristar Insurance Company in Texas for 12 years.
Douglas enjoyed spending time outdoors, working on small projects. He enjoyed tinkering on his toys and to his family he was a master “McGyver”. He loved his Pepsi-Cola and his Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Douglas lived life to the fullest and was very kind and generous
to so many people over the years. He will be dearly missed.
Douglas is survived by his children, Ashley Webb Hinkle and husband Ron of Reno, Nevada, Douglas R. Webb, Jr. of Joshua, Mari-Lain Parkes and husband Kelly of North Richland Hills, Texas and Veronica Dean and husband Lance of Sarasota, Florida; brothers, Louis Edward Webb IV of California and Dallas Webb of Louisiana; grandchildren, Alaina St. John, Nathaniel Douglas Parkes, Gabriel Louis Parkes and Shannon Leigh Parkes.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sammie; and sister, Betty Sue Wyland.
