Doyle Wilkerson

Graveside service for Doyle Gene Wilkerson, 77, of Alvarado will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 12, 2015 in the Keene Memorial Park. Pastor Ryan Long will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Doyle Gene Wilkerson passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Ft. Worth after a brief illness. He was born August 22, 1937 in Cooper, Texas to Ivey and Lorene (Hancock) Wilkerson and the family moved to Dallas in August of 1949. He married Geneva Kasiska.

Mr. Wilkerson served in the United States Marine Corp. He worked as a fleet manager for the City of Dallas for more than 33 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Burleson Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Wilkerson; daughter, Cheryl Cottrell and husband Rick; grandchildren, Daniel Price and wife Jamie, Stevan Cottrell, Rochelle Quiles and husband Jose, Jessica Cottrell and Stephanie Fuller and husband Chad; seven great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Ivaleen Wilkerson.
