Dr. Alonso, a dedicated surgeon and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, in Cleburne, Texas. Born on October 23, 1935, Dr. Alonso lived a life devoted to healing and helping others. His compassion extended far beyond the hospital walls; he spent five years as a missionary doctor in Thailand, where he touched countless lives with his skilled hands and warm heart.
Dr. Alonso's commitment to his profession was matched only by his love for his family. He is survived by his son, Eddie Alonso, and daughter-in-law Yesenia Vargas, as well as his son Rodney Alonso and daughter-in-law Ann Marie. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Emily Oglesbee and her husband Charles, Abigail Alonso, Joseph Alonso, Avery Alonso, and Austin Alonso.
Dr. Alonso is also survived by his sister, Ysis Espana, and brother-in-law Erwin Sicher. The love of Emilia Alonso, the mother of his children, also remains a significant part of his life story. He leaves behind other beloved relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.
Though he has departed this world, he is preceded in death by his parents, Rene Ramiro and Waldina "Lile" Alonso, and his son Ramiro Alonso. The impact he had on the lives he touched endures with those who knew him.
Dr. Alonso was not just a dedicated doctor; he was a man of diverse interests. An avid fan of baseball and soccer, he sought joy in every opportunity, whether fishing on serene waters or exploring new destinations. His zest for life and unwavering desire to make a difference in the lives of others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
