Dr. Weldon Glen Huneycutt passed away May 12, 2021 in Loveland, Colorado. He was born September 23, 1928 to Dr. Semeion Fairenton Huneycutt and Lena Viola (Turner) Huneycutt in Sherman, Texas. He married Billie Jean Matthews on August 3, 1947 in Cleburne. Dr. Weldon Glen Huneycutt was a longtime member of Field Street Baptist Church where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School and lay preaching.
Weldon graduated from Cleburne High School, Tarleton College, San Jacinto College, and earned his doctorate at the Texas Chiropractic College. He was in private practice in Cleburne from 1968 until his retirement in 1989.
Weldon loved old cars, motorcycles, woodworking and traveling. He and Billie Jean traveled to 35 countries after retiring, in addition to many fun camping trips in the U.S.A. Most of these trips included his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, the late Nolte Crosier and wife Sue…they were great traveling companions! He never met a stranger, striking up a conversation and making friends everywhere he went. He was a frequent McDonald’s breakfast attendee with his buddies.
In 2012, Weldon and Billie Jean packed up and moved to Colorado, where they enjoyed traveling the mountains roads around Estes Park, Colorado on a daily basis. It was a good move, as they were closer to their children, who made their home in Colorado.
He will be missed for his sense of humor and great story-telling!
