Graveside service for Edith Aileen Montgomery, 81, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 30, 2018 in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery.
Edith Aileen Montgomery passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Cleburne. She was born December 8, 1936 in Cleburne to Elijah Gilford and Edith Sarah Harp Phillips. She attended Cleburne High School and married Billy Gene Montgomery on December 10, 1954.
During the early years of her marriage, she was a poultry inspector and later has several paper routes for the Fort Worth Star Telegram for many years. Aileen loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Thomas and Joe Phillips; two sisters, Mary Howe and Nadine Edwards.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Billy Gene Montgomery of Cleburne; son and daughter-in-law, Max and D’Juana Montgomery of Cleburne; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Mark Stanfield of Cleburne and daughter, Ann Montgomery of Waxahachie; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two sisters, Billie Kuykendall of Kopperl and Martha Howe of Fort Worth.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Ridgeview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center and Heart To Heart Hospice for their support and care in her final days.
