Service for Edna Grace Hempel, 84, of Cleburne, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Greenacres Mausoleum Chapel, burial to follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Collin Brister, Chase Miller, Josh Moore, Kyle Bryan, Tyler Keppel, Ashley Miller, Riley Schindler, and Lindsey Moore.
Edna passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, in Fort Worth. She was born September 19, 1938, in Winters, Texas to Royce and Marie (Simpson) Grace. Edna married Donald Edward Hempel on September 20, 1969, in Cleburne. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2016. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Cleburne. Edna worked as a seamstress for over 30 years, then worked at H.E.B. Pharmacy for 12 years in Cleburne.
Edna was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Thelma Long, and Wanda Burris; and brother, Bill Grace.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Connie May Goode and Bill of Garland, Donald Hempel and Norma of Whitney, Rick Hempel and Tina of Cleburne, Randy Bryan and Dixie of Gorman, and Rhonda Schindler and Joseph of Grandview; grandchildren, Sandi, Francie, Donna, Brandi, Bradley, Michael, Cassidy, Kyle, Jennifer, Ashley, Riley, and Lindsey; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Grace and wife, Doris of Mineola; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
