Services for Edna Pearl Montgomery, 101, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Bro. John Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Lane Prairie Cemetery. Colten Sirek, Clayton Montgomery, Keith Montgomery, Ronnie Bonham, Junior Jessup and Marshall Landers will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday.
Mrs. Montgomery passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Keene. She was born to Charley J. and Lillie Mae Asberry Haverley on October 20, 1908 in Alma, Arkansas. Edna was a member of Parker Baptist Church. She worked in the laundry business for over 20 years with Snow White Laundry, Cleburne Laundry and Harris Cleaners. "Granny" was known for her laughter and playing bingo. She will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved her.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Everett Montgomery; children, Marvin Montgomery, Mazie Marie Montgomery, Ralph Montgomery; one great great grandchild; and brothers, Edward and Ernest Haverley.
Survivors include her daughter in law, Ruth Montgomery; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Charles and Marlotta Montgomery, Doug Montgomery, Dee Ann and Mike Sirek and Jimmy and Debbie Montgomery; 7 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
