A memorial service honoring the life of Edward "Eddie" Gleen Craig, Jr., 65, of Cleburne will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with the John Hall officiating.
Edward Gleen Craig, Jr. passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008, in a tragic fire at his home on Gleason St. He was born to Edward Gleen "Uncle Hank" Craig and Mary Frances Elder Craig, who preceded him in death. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church.Mr. Craig graduated Cleburne High School and Elkins Institute of Electronics. A well-known disc jockey and radio/T.V. personality, having worked for KCLE radio, Cleburne,TX, KKJO radio, St. Joseph, MO, WACO radio/TV, Waco, TX and numerous radio/TVstations in Louisiana and California. Mr. Craig devoted 20 plus years to the industry. A talented musician, entertainer, and recording artist, Eddie's career began in his youth with numerous appearances on the Cowtown Hoedown, Ft. Worth, TX, the Louisiana Hayride, Sherveport, LA, and the original Grand Ole Opry, Nashville, TN. He subsequently taught electronics in Palm Springs, CA, for 15 years before returning to Texas where he was employed as an electronics design engineer for HD Power Solutions in Ft. Worth, TX for the past 12 years.
Ed Craig is survived by his son, Edward Gleen Craig, III and his wife, Karyn, of Hawkins,TX; grandson, Ryan William Craig of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Tabitha Jean Craig of Pritchett, TX; step-grandson, Michael C. Meuir of Hawkins, TX and step-granddaughter, Brandi Lynn Buchanan of Lindale, TX.
Mr. Craig was a member of MENSA, a national and international society, comprised of members who score in the top 2 percent of high IQ's on a standardized supervised intelligence test.
Memorials may be made to the Field Street Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
