Graveside service for Edward Norman “Ned” Hopkins, 77, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 in Rosehill Cemetery. The Reverend Kim Long will officiate.
Edward Norman “Ned” Hopkins passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 in Cleburne. He was born Feb. 12, 1938 in Ft. Worth to Edward and Houston Norman Hopkins. He married Ruth Myers on Feb. 7, 1994 in Cleburne.
Mr. Hopkins worked as a reproduction specialist for General Dynamics, retiring with more than 37 years of service. “Ned”, “Pap Paw” was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was an avid bass fisherman, but only from a boat. His happy place was the family lake house on Lake Lydia in Quitman, TX. He also loved spending time on the coast at Port Aransas. He attended TCU, was an avid TCU Horned Frog fan “Go Frogs” and a member of First United Methodist Church of Cleburne.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Myers Hart Hopkins of Cleburne; two daughters, Elizabeth Clayton and partner, Becca Wheeler of Cleburne and Debbie Bursiaga of Cleburne; four grandchildren, Misty Holmes and fiancé Josh Mullins of Cleburne, Brianna Rush and husband Andrew of Cleburne, Dominique Burciaga and fiancé Jack Cudworth of Cleburne, and Jacob Lee Clayton of Eugene, OR; four great grandchildren, Izaiah, Lena, Zander, and Presley; Ruth’s son and his wife, Danny and Linda Hart and their family; Nina Walker and her fiancé, Derek Johnston and Lark and Austin Walker; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
