Edward Jacobs

Services for Edward "Jake" Oliver Jacobs, 75, of Burleson, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in the Ascension Lutheran Church, 205 S. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, TX. The Reverend Benjamin Rathgeber and Reverend Joseph Ardy will officiate. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN. Visitation will be Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ed Jacobs passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in Burleson. He was born May 13, 1934 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Oliver Jensen and Hilda (Schroeder) Jacobs. He married Hazel Lasater Savage on October 1, 1988 in Cleburne.

Mr. Jacobs served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was assemblyman for Hobbs Trailers, he also farmed and worked in maintenance for Winn Dixie. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Cleburne.

EdJacobs is survived by his wife, Hazel Jacobs of Burleson; sons, Ricky Jacobs of Burleson and Randy Jacobs and wife, Lisa of Azle; daughter, Kelly Gee and husband, Kevin of Cleburne; grandchildren, Christy Jacobs, Jared Gee and Dillon Gee; one great-grandchild, Ella Gee; brother, Marvin Jacobs and wife, Betty of Hennig, MN and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elenore Wells and two children, Ronald and Angela and first wife, Dorothy.
