Service for Edward Lee West, Jr., 86, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Lee Wallace will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale West, Jack West, Jeremy Steadman, Grady Cain, Hunter Brooks and Michael Hudson. Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie West, Steve West, Edward Hudson and Logan Brooks.
Edward Lee West passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 in Cleburne. He was born July 11, 1930 in Rio Vista to Edward Lee, Sr. and Nora Victoria Hollingsworth West. He married Leta Jo Hall on July 3, 1952 in Fort Worth and she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2014, after 62 years of marriage.
Mr. West served in the United States Army during the Korean War, the United States Reserves and was stationed in Germany. He worked for the City of Cleburne water department, retiring with 38 years of service. He enjoyed camping, traveling and working on cars. Edward was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Cindy Steadman and husband Marvin of Cleburne, Sandra Cain and husband Jerry of Whitney and Peggy Terry of Rowlett; grandchildren, Christy Brooks and husband Jody, Angela Hudson and husband Jonathan, Jeremy Steadman and wife Tara, Grady Cain and Shannon Terry; great grandchildren, Hunter and Logan Brooks, Michael and Edward Hudson, Kylie Steadman, Kaitlyn Tucker, and Sydney and Delaney Delgado; brothers, Guy West and Francis West; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Patti Lynn West; brothers, Troy, Olan, and Carl West; and son-in-law, Jack Terry.
