Edward Peters
Services for Edward Amon "Pete" Peters, 79, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 22, 2010 in the College Heights Baptist Church. The Reverend Mark Ely and Mr. Steve McCoy will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steve McCoy, Bill McCoy, Patrick Lawyer, Bill Mason, Rex Pritchard and Horace Gilliam. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Anderson, Bob Ferguson, Brian Cannon, John McCoy, Clint McCoy, Bob Childress, Jim Gibson and the Deacons of College Heights Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 4-6 Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to College Heights Baptist Church or Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing % Janis Kovar-Endowed Scholarship Fund, 3600 Worth Street, Dallas, Texas 78246
Mr. Peters passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Cleburne. He was born May 5, 1931 in Granbury to Edd A. and Ella Mae Taylor Peters. He married Doris LaJean Hudspeth on October 30, 1959 in Cleburne.
Pete was a retired supervisor for Texaco Oil Corporation. He was a volunteer firefighter for Granbury and an avid domino and 42 player. He was a longtime member of the College Heights Baptist Church, teaching 3rd grade Sunday school for many years.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Amy Lawyer and husband Patrick of Arlington; sister, Melba McCoy of Stephenville; sister-in-law, Rae Hudspeth of Medford, Oregon; nephews, Steve McCoy and wife Cindy and Bill McCoy and wife, Teresa; nieces, Kathi Schlientz and husband Tom, Val Ferguson and husband, Bob, Annette Cannon and husband Brian and Debbie Crum and husband Larry; numerous great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives, friends and caregivers.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife; parents; older sister, Mary Perdue; older brother Jerry Perdue and a nephew Gerald Perdue.
