Graveside services for Effie Leola Russell, 85, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in the Greenacres Memorial Park.

Effie Leola Russell passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008 in Cleburne. She was born January 13, 1923 in Cadiz, Kentucky to Arthur and Cora Burnett.

Mrs. Russell worked in housekeeping in the nursing home industry and was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She loved to sew, cook, garden and loved to track weather conditions. Effie also loved cats. She was of the Methodist faith.

Effie Russell is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Levi and husband, Paul of Concord, New Hampshire, Jeanne Martin and husband, Pecos of Cleburne, Jessica Gossett and husband, Lonnie of Cleburne, Cynthia Thorson and husband, Walter of Ennis and Faye Helms of Cleburne; son, John Joseph Russell of Austin; grandchildren, Sarah Payton, Jonathon Payton, Lonnie Ray Gossett, Wendi Martin, Coty Pierce, Robert Trussell, Gynger Gossett, Misti Martin and Seaver Helms; great-grandchildren, Christopher Headley, Anastia Headley, Chelsea Trussell, Hailey and Christin Shaw and Bryce Gossett and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Wyman Pierce and 2nd husband, John W. Russell, son, Gerald Pierce; brother, Ed Mitchell and sister, Katie Slaughter.
