Service for Elaine June Conlin, 81, of Godley will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday in the Godley United Methodist Church. The Reverend Rudy Rudewick will officiate. Burial will be in the Godley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Conlin, Bob Conlin, Bill Conlin, Paul Conlin, Todd Shaw and Nico Aureli.
Mrs. Conlin passed away in Keene, Sunday, April 1, 2012 into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, greeted in Heaven by her husband Paul and her daughter, Kathy, whom she missed greatly. Mrs. Conlin was a resident of Godley since 1989. She was a patient at Town Hall Estates in Keene for four and one half years. She was born Dec. 8, 1930 in Suttons Bay, Michigan to William and Ruth McLoud Bender. She married Paul Wayne Conlin on Mar. 4, 1950 in Detroit, Mich.
Elaine was active in many organizations and volunteer groups throughout her life. Elaine was a lifetime member of the former Tyrian Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, now known as the Kindness Chapter in Livonia, Mich. and was a current member of the Ruth Chapter in Cleburne. After her husband Pauls' death she volunteered at Walls-Texas Health Hospital in Cleburne. Elaine achieved the honor of accumulating 4500 hours and 15 years of service helping families. She was a member of the Godley United Methodist Church and loved to sing in the choir. Her family and friends will miss her dearly and her spirit will be with us always.
Survivors include her daughter, June Jerome and Ken of Ruskin, Florida; sons, Paul W. Conlin II of Decatur, Ill., Jim Conlin and wife Kathy of Godley and Bill Conlin and wife Evelyn of Northville, Mich.; one step brother, Daniel Bittner and wife Joanne of Frankfort, Mich.; eight grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bender and Ruth McLoud-Bittner; step father, L.H. Bittner, her husband Paul W. Conlin; youngest daughter, Kathy and a great grandson, Nicholas Jerome.
