Elbert Richard

Service for Elbert Richard, 62, of Alvarado will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Elder Bobby Buckley, The Rev. John Warren, Elder Robert Holbert and Elder Benjamin Williams will officiate. Pallbearers will be Don Wayne McNeil, Michael Fuller, Kevin Sansom, Roderick Sansom, Derrick D. Sansom and Jermaine Sansom. Honorary pallbearer will be Dennis Houston. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, in the DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Richard passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Alvarado. He was born October 28, 1949 in Cleburne to Homer and Lillie Mae Mitchell Richard. He married Jo Zelma Sansom on April 19, 1991 in Alvarado.

Mr. Richard was retired from Unique Fold and Mail Co. and was a member of the Alvarado Gospel Temple.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Jo Zelma Richard of Alvarado; four sons, Kevin Sansom and wife Terra of Joshua, Roderick Sansom of Warrensberg, Missouri, Derrick D. Sansom and wife Mindy of Crowley and Jermaine Sansom and wife Cheri of Claremore, Okla.; daughter, Charmain Sansom of Irving; sister Homerzell Greer and brother, Denmore Richard, both of Hillsboro; 12 grandchildren; three nieces, Gretchen Greer of Crowley, Tranae Sloan of Plano and Tacoya Richard of Cleburne, and a host of many other family and friends.
