Service for Elbi Loeak, 75, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 in the First Marshallese Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Mr. Loeak passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 in Cleburne. He was born March 15, 1938 in the Marshall Islands to Ajure and Lijon Lomae Loeak. He married Almina John in 1957 in the Marshall Islands.
Mr. Loeak was a weather broadcaster, a fisherman and a former manager of the local high school cafeteria in the Marshall Islands before moving to the United States 13 years ago. He was a humble man who had a giving heart and was always trying to help anyone in need. Elbi was a dedicated family man and enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church (Cleburne) and served as a deacon for Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Marshall Islands). His kind ways and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Almina Loeak; children, Linus Loeak, Angela Babauta, Fred Loeak, Vincent Loeak, Johnnel Loeak, Roney Loeak, Catherine Gushikuma, Mary Jonaie, Linda Peter, Florina Hisiaha, Grace Alik, Charles Loeak and Justin Loeak; 35 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Irene Jikit and six siblings
