Elena was a Great Woman of God. Her passions were many, but sewing was where she excelled, so whether it was fabric she was using to sew or the sowing of God’s word, she always did it with a smile on her face and joy in her heart. She was always ready to serve in her church in whatever capacity, gladly volunteering wherever she was needed. But her greatest attribute was her love of family, spending time with the love of her life, Efrain Villarreal, her children, her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her siblings. Our momma stood in the shadows so that others could shine. Rest now, Rest In His perfect Peace till we see you again in glory, you were loved beyond measure and will live in our hearts forever.

Elena was born March 3,1945, in Junction, Texas to Agapito Trevino Franco and Casimira Castillo Franco, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2022. She grew up and attended Rocksprings ISD and later worked in the school district first as an aide then as a librarian. She married Efrain R. Villarreal September 14, 1962, in Rocksprings, Texas, and they started their family soon after.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Agapito and Casimira Franco; infant brothers, Elias and George Franco, her brother, Agapito Franco Jr.; sisters, Elia Rivas, Esther Aguirre, and Elida Peña.

She leaves behind the love of her life of 59 years, Efrain Rubio Villarreal; her daughters, Maria Elena Villarreal and her husband, Gary Hatley; daughter, Martha Franco Villarreal and her husband, Michael Allen; and a son, Efrain Franco Villarreal Jr.; and his wife, Lilly Ann Villarreal. Her grandchildren, Gary and wife, Karen Hatley, Michael and wife, Katrina Hatley and their families, Robert Allen and Brandon Allen, Nolan McVicker, Efrain III and wife, Crystal Villarreal their family, Byanka Villarreal and husband, Robert Gomez and their family, Sidney Lanier and her husband, Elias Conring and their family, Kristian Villarreal and family, Coy Lanier, Farris Villarreal and Isaias Villarreal, along with 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Ernestina Quirino, Elva Torres, Juanita Rocha, Ermelinda Gomez, Idalia Conring, and Sara DeLeon.
