Ella Mae went to her eternal rest on August 18, 2006. Born in 1918, she was 87 years young. She was married to Melton W. Brantley on May 4, 1934. Melton preceded her in death. She also was preceded by a daughter, Sonya Ann and son, Gary Douglass Brantley. She is survived by two daughters, Dolores Ingram and husband Richard Ingram of Canton, Texas, Glenda Burk and husband Bailey Burk of Covington, Texas, daughter-in-law Judy Brantley of Canton, Texas, and grandchildren, Sheri Woods, Robert Woods, Diann Bowman, Missy Trawick, Brandi Owens, Jimmy Gillam, Kristen Gillam and Melanie Etter, as well as seven great-grandchildren and many good friends and extended family.
Melton and Ella Mae began their married life as farmers in the Blum community of Hill County and resided there all of their married life. She loved her community and above all her church life. Ella had the ability to be a friend and mentor to all she had opportunity to meet. Her family was her life. She never failed to bring a calmness and assurance to any situation through her faith and perseverance. Her unconditional love has seen us all through many times. She trusted in her Lord and Savior to assure the results of lifes many ups and downs. She will be missed by all as she enters her eternal rest. Thank you mother, grandmother and friend to all.
