Service for Emma Lee May Johnson, 85, of Covington will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 3, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor J.J. Jennings will officiate. Burial will be in Blanton Cemetery in Hill County. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Emma Lee May Johnson passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 in Itasca. She was born Dec. 31, 1930 in Durant, OK to Drew Presley and Bernice Evans May. She married Mark A. Johnson on Dec. 21, 1963 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2001.
Mrs. Johnson worked as a delivery service driver until retiring. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a member of the Happy Trails Cowboy Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Claudine Bradley and husband Kenneth and Cenith McCready; sons, Charles McKinney and wife Betty, Kirby Hamilton and wife Cindy and Gene Johnson; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 43 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, LaVenda Haub; sister, Violet Hamilton; and brother, C.L. “Buddy” May.
