Emma Speer

Service for Emma Speer, 88, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, October 2, 2023 at the funeral home.

Emma passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 in Cleburne. She was born April 7, 1935 in Johnson County. Emma married James Thomas Speer on May 19, 1951 in Cleburne. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her cats. Emma was a loving wife and mother. She will be greatly missed.

Emma is survived by her husband, James Speer; daughter, Deborah Rice and husband, Ronnie; sons, Gary Thomas Speer, John Henry Speer; sister, Imagene English; brother, Marshall Timmons and wife, Madeline; grandchildren, Roy Rice and wife, Tracie, Robin Hardin and husband, Jason, Sarah Speer, Jennifer Braswell and husband, Bubba, Sandra Speer, John Speer and wife, Hillary; 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Emma is preceded in death by her son, Wyndell Speer; grandchildren, Christopher Speer, Gary Thomas Speer, Jr. “Butter”; parents, Frank and Lou Etta (Wooley) Timmons and 4 siblings.
