Mrs. Veliz passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Cleburne. She was born to Porfirio and Esmerlinda Lopez Villanueva on July 15, 1926 in Mercedes, Texas. She worked as a seamstress with Dickies and then for Walls Industries for over 22 years. Later she worked in housekeeping at Walls Regional Hospital. Enrriqueta was a devote Christian lady and a member of the Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church of Keene. She shared her faith with others as often as she could. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and learning more about her Lord. She had the ability to light up a room, just by walking into it. She was a giver, always putting others before herself. Granny adored her granddaughter and great granddaughters. Enrriqueta was a fighter. She began going blind over 20 years ago and just within the past two years went completely blind. When she was able to, she enjoyed working in the yard. She was a pet lover, especially of cats and dogs. Her kind heart and unwavering faith will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mariano, Gill, and Sotero Villanueva; and sisters, Basilla DeLeon and Maria Villanueva.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Hardin and her husband, Randall; granddaughter, Miranda Hardin Windham and her husband, Brian; great granddaughters, Madison and Brianna Windham; sisters, Hilaria Bustamante and Virginia Quiroz; brother in law, Domingo DeLeon; sister in law, Olga Villanueva; numerous nieces, nephews; a host of other relatives and friends; and her beloved cats, Bobby and Woody.
