Estelle Hood

Services for Estelle Hood, 101, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, July 26, 2010 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Rev. Larry York officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday.

Mrs. Hood passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Cleburne. She was born to Earl and Betty Lee Young on November 13, 1908 in Johnson County. Estelle married Arthur M. Hood in 1947 in Ellis County. She worked as a seamstress for many years at Prissy Missy, Westway Sportswear of Cleburne and the sewing room at WPA. Estelle was of the Baptist faith. She was a hard working, strong willed and loving lady with a great sense of humor. She had an ability to draw people to her and then keep them in line. She enjoyed crocheting. Estelle will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur M. Hood in 1984; son, Bobby Joe Williams; step daughter, Marie Heslip; brothers, Curtis and Virgil Young; 1 grandchild; and 1 great grandchild.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Charles and Hilda Hood, Corene Burson, Sharron and Morris Montgomery; 12 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
