Services for Ethel Galbreath, 97, of Joshua will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Kevin Rhoades will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brad Galbreath, Brett Galbreath, Brian Galbreath, John Allen, Mathis Rutledge and Jordan Allen. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday.
Mrs. Galbreath passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 in Ft. Worth. She was born May 15, 1912 in Ft. Worth to Edward Austin and Addie Pearl Williford Thompson. She married Woodrow Wilson Galbreath on June 3, 1939 in Sanger.
Ethel Galbreath was a school teacher. She taught a total of 34 years, 26 of those in the Joshua ISD. She was also the first married woman allowed to teach in Joshua schools. Ethel was also a Sunday School teacher for many years and an active member of the Granbury St. Church of Christ.
Mrs. Galbreath is survived by her daughter, Glenda Stephens and husband, Les of Burleson; son, Ronnie Galbreath and wife, Linda of Joshua; grandchildren, Lesley Rutledge and husband, Darren, Brian Galbreath, Brad Galbreath and wife, Courtney, Brett Galbreath and wife, Jessica and Jeana Allen and husband, John; 9 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.W. Galbreath in 1998; great-granddaughter, Kacie Rutledge; sisters, Cleo Lockhart, Welda Brown and Ilma Allred and brother, Norris Thompson.
