Mrs. Johnson was born to Martin and Mary Mears Coplin on April 26, 1935 in Brazos Point, Texas. She passed away in Cleburne on Monday, November 7, 2011. Ethel married Henry H. Johnson 59 years ago in Cleburne, Texas. She was a member of Faith Temple Church, where she was known for her dedication to prayer. Ethel loved gospel music and even sang on the radio many years ago. She was a woman of strong faith and read her Bible for countless hours. To say she was a homemaker does not do her justice. She took great pride in caring for her home and family. She was a giver, of her time, heart, and cooking. Ethel will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Roy Gene Johnson; and 2 brothers, Elmer Ray Coplin and George Mears.
Survivors include her husband, Henry H. Johnson; children, Herman Johnson and his wife, Carol, Vicki Johnson, Randy Johnson and his wife, Paula, and John Johnson; grandchildren, Angie, Amanda, Henry, Audrey, Wes, Will, Lesa, Randy, Megan, Stetson, Laci, Brittany, Wyatt, and Lacy; numerous great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend thanks to all those who were there for Ethel and her family during this time including the 2nd floor and ICU nurses at Texas Health System (Walls Regional Hospital) and Amedisys Home Health staff.
