Eva Lois Johnson passed away peacefully on September 29, 2019. She was “NANA” to all.
Eva was born at Quitaque, Texas, on January 16, 1930 to Marion Francis McNatt and Mina Mae Thomas. She passed away at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was a long time member of North Cleburne Church and Calvary Baptist church in Cleburne.
Eva grew up with three sisters Dixie McMahon, Mildred McKeel and Ruth Johnson (all deceased).
She married Guy Johnson of Cleburne on October 19, 1946. She had two children Karen and Vicki.
Years later she married V.T. Combs of Keene, Texas.
She was preceded in death by daughter Vicki Johnson Gustke and granddaughter Amy Porter Abbott.
Her children are Karen Johnson Butts and husband Harold Butts of Whitesboro, Texas. Vicki Johnson Gustke and husband Don Gustke (both deceased).
Grandchildren include Jeff Butts and wife Carrie Butts of Whitesboro, Texas, daughter Tiphanie Butts of Whitesboro, Texas Amy Porter Abbott (deceased) and husband Jamie Abbott of Grandview, Darren Porter of White Settlement , Texas and Ryan Porter and wife Leah of Las Vegas, Nevada. Great grandchildren: Grant Butts of Addison, Texas, Nic Butts of Whitesboro, Texas, Derek Porter and wife Lauren of White Settlement, Alex Porter of White Settlement, Kingston and Victoria Porter of Las Vegas, Nevada. Step sons, Larry Combs and wife Sue of Alvarado, Texas, Robert Combs of Keene, Texas and many nieces and nephews and her beloved friends who will cherish their memories of her.
Eva loved all of her family and was known for her kind and loving heart and spirit. She put everyone before herself and everyone will have fond memories to cherish.
The last five years were spent living with her daughter Karen and her family in Whitesboro, where they cared for her in their home until her death. She will be dearly missed.
Service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cleburne Memorial Cemetery.
