Service for Florence Featherston, 93, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 6, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverend Charles Payne and Reverend Allen Kyle will be officiating. Graveside to follow in DFW National Cemetery at 2:15 P.M. A visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Corley, Robert Coward, James Ellis, Phillip Ellis, Eddie Leifeste, Hayden Leifeste, James Leifeste, and Christopher Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Coward, Myron Ducker, and Carl Odom.
Florence passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, in Cleburne. She was born September 23, 1929, in Bee House, Texas to Raymond and Della Florence (Murrah) Lovell. Florence married Moye Garnett Featherston on May 6, 1946, in Gatesville, Texas. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne. Florence was devoted to her faith and family. She was a prayer warrior and truly a virtuous woman. Everything she did was with love in her heart. Florence took great pride in her home. She could be found gardening many times. She never knew a stranger and accepted people no matter their circumstance. Florence’s strong will and independent streak will be remembered along with her many examples and lessons given throughout her life.
Florence is survived by her children, Claudette Coward and spouse, Dennis, Arlene Ducker, Kathy Odom and spouse, Carl, Sarah Featherston and spouse, Myron Ducker, Jewel Evans and spouse, Craig, and Manford Featherston; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on June 15, 2014; daughter, Ann Ellis in 1999; grandson, Eddie Ellis; granddaughter, Cherish Ducker; and eight siblings.
