Foster Wells

Services for Foster Wells, 77, of Joshua, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Cleburne with Gerald Beene, Jr. and Rev. John Whitworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Friday.


Mr. Wells passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in Joshua. He was born to Charlie and Susie Felps Wells on January 30, 1934 in Blanco, Texas. He served in the United States Army. Foster married Vinnie Vernell Gibson on December 6, 1952. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He has been described as a character, a fun loving man who liked to laugh. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Foster will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Susie Wells; wife, Nell Wells; siblings and sister in law, Tommy and Ester Wells, Cloteal Flippin, Mildred Beene, and Charlene Wood; and brother in law, Ray Gibson.



Survivors include his brothers and sisters in law, John Flippin, Gerald Beene, Sr., Gidley Wood, Jim and Bea Gibson, and Laura Willis; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
