Services for Frances Harrell Brand, 77, lifelong resident of Cleburne, will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday, November 5, 2010 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Interment will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 4, 2010. Mrs. Brand passed away in Cleburne on Monday, November 1, 2010. She was born to Sidney Johnson Harrell and Lena Ruth Bartley Harrell on September 24, 1933 also in Cleburne. Frances married John Spencer Brand on September 30, 1950 in Parker, Texas. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of Women on Missions and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Above all else, Frances was a devoted wife and mother. Her family always came first in her life. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word and worked as a farmer's wife most of her life. Frances was known for her gardening, sewing and quilting. She was a giver of her time, talent and food. She enjoyed playing dominoes and family games. Grandmommie's giving nature and loving spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Spencer Brand on February 17, 2003; granddaughter, Holly Frances Warren on January 1, 1989; three brothers, Carl, Raymond and James Harrell; and sister, Lynda Dollar.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Barbara and Bob Monk of Mesquite, Darla and Randy Webb of Cleburne, Ginny and David Warren of Kaufman, Alvin and Jessica Brand of Cleburne, Melvin Brand of Cleburne, Wanda and Weldon Spurgeon of Cleburne, and Debra Allen of Morgan; 26 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Dianatha Paulson of Clifton; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
