Service for Frances Adams Finklea, 90, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 14, 2012 in the Field Street Baptist Church. Dr. John Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Finklea passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 in Cleburne. Frances was born December 23, 1921 in Hopkins County, Texas to Benjamin Franklin and Grace Robison Adams. She married Buford Finklea on April 22, 1939 in the home of his godfather. They moved to Cleburne where Buford went to work for Santa Fe Railroad. Frances attended school for a year at Keene before going to work for County and District Attorneys and from there to Farmer's Home Administration. Mrs. Finklea retired from Santa Fe Railroad after 30 years of service, with the last 18 as secretary to Purchasing Agent of the Purchasing and Materials Department. She has been a member of Field Street Baptist Church since 1942. She loved her church and church family very much. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 58 years, her parents and four brothers.
She is survived by one son, Robert and his wife Kristi of Denton; four nieces, three nephews; great nieces and nephews; several cousins and a host of friends.
