Frances Lyon

Services for Frances Marie Lyon, 83, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Bob Beeman will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m.

Frances Marie Lyon passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in Ft. Worth. She was born August 12, 1925 in Grandview to Edward LaFayette and Julia Lorena Cain Shelton. She was the only daughter of four children. She graduated from Grandview High School in 1942. She married Charles Burnett Lyon on February 27, 1946 in Cleburne.

Mrs. Lyon was a former seamstress for WestWay Clothing Manufacturer. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, the Grandmothers Club of Cleburne and the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees. Her hobbies were sewing and country and western dancing.

Frances Marie Lyon is survived by her husband, Charlie Lyon of Cleburne; two daughters, Cheryl Davis and husband, Joe of Cleburne and Brenda Schmotzer and husband, Dave of Hartsville, SC; three grandchildren, Amy Rich and husband, Jay of Cleburne, and Dustin and Damon Davis both of Houston; four great-grandchildren, Jaden Trojacek, Bailey Carlock, Jared Cabrera and Jeremy Rich and twelve neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Lenox "Rooster" Shelton, Mack Laverne Shelton and Carl Richard Shelton.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
