Frances Martin

Service for Frances C. Martin, 95, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Tony Tawater will officiate. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 P.M., Saturday, prior to the service.

Frances C. Martin passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 in Keene. She was born July 10, 1919 in Cleburne to John Wesley and Mary Elizabeth McClendon Carter. She married Warren D. Martin on December 31, 1940 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death in June of 1979.

Mrs. Martin worked as a postal clerk with United States Postal Service, retiring from the Rio Vista Post Office with 20 years of service. She enjoyed her job and customers very much. Frances was a music lover and very active in her community, serving as PTA president and acting in local plays. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Rio Vista and Lone Willow Baptist Church. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Hensley; granddaughters, Danna Hensley Hafner and husband Brad and Holli Hensley; great granddaughters, Jordan, Kelsey and Megan Hafner; sister, Mary Stuart; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Nettie Bridges, Ruby Rhoades, John B. Carter; and son-in-law, Danny Hensley.
