Frances Underwood

Graveside services for Frances Louise Underwood, 91, of Arlington will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Rosehill Cemetery.

Frances Louise Underwood passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, in Arlington. She was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Sand Flat to Charlie and Bessie Hankins Ramsey.

She married J.W. Underwood in 1939 in Johnson County and he preceded her in death in 1984.

Mrs. Underwood was an inspector with Alcon Lab in Fort Worth until her retirement in 1981. She was a kind and soft-hearted lady with wisdom beyond her years. She had an ability to make you understand anything. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith. Her kind, sweet spirit and sole focus on her family will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Jack Underwood; grandchildren, Cindy Curlee and Melody Underwood; great-grandchildren, Layla, Anthony, Dylan and Jason; great-great-grandson, Julian; brother, Don Ramsey and wife, Pat; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, J.W.; daughter, Sheila Garten; grandson, Danny McGonagill; and a sister, Lula Bell Ramsey.
