Service for Freddie Lee O’Neal, 101, of Godley will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 in the Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate, assisted by the Reverend Brooks Monk and the Reverend Donnie Williams. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Soule, Randy O’Neal, Craig Edgmon, Mark Dodson, Adam O’Neal and Cameron O’Neal. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Freddie Lee O’Neal passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 in Grandview. He was born Aug. 7, 1916 in Somervell County to Francis Marion and Eliza Ellen Shipman O’Neal. He married Elizabeth Eberhart on Jan. 17, 1942 in Somervell County. She preceded him in death in Dec. 1990. He then married Dorothy Linderman on Aug. 29, 1992 and she preceded him in death in June of 2015.
Mr. O’Neal served in the United States Army during WWII and worked as an electrician for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring with 30 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Tommy Lee O’Neal and wife Ethel of Madisonville, Glenn Edward O’Neal and wife June of Rio Vista and Leonard Merida O’Neal and wife Susan of Godley; daughter-in-law, Jo Pearl O’Neal of Walters, OK; nine grandchildren, Janice Dodson and husband Mark, Jammie O’Neal and wife Debra, Jane Edgmon and husband Craig, Randy O’Neal and wife Brandee, Amy Soule and husband Jeremy, Jeremy O’Neal and wife Shelly, Jeffery O’Neal and wife Courtney, Adam O’Neal and Cameron O’Neal; eight great grandchildren, Devin Dodson, Kyle and Clay Edgmon, Alexandria O’Neal, Jamie, Chandler, and Abby Soule, and Kennedy O’Neal; six great-great grandchildren, Lori, Riley, and Colby Dodson; Korbin Edgmon, Audree Edgmon and Silas Dodson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joseph Fredrick O’Neal; one great grandson, Dustin Dodson; two infant children, Katie Ellen and William Raymond O’Neal; one brother, Henry O’Neal; and four sisters, Annie Thacker, Emma Meador, Hattie Brown, and Mattie Bullard.
